23 Weeks and Growing

The date August 6th, my Mom Birthday. The last ultrasound to date. I am 23 weeks and this ultrasound was to make sure that my placenta was out of the way.

I have been telling Steve,Mom, and Dad that Nicholas is a very active baby in my belly. Well this visit proved to Steve and Mom that he is active. Randy at Dr. Gillean's office did the ultrasound and he was great. Nicholas was kicking and moving all around. He gave us a great show. Randy did the measurement of his head, belly and femur bone. Randy then stated very nicely " you have a very health boy." I am 23 weeks and the average weight of a baby at 23 weeks is about 1 lb. Well Randy did the math on the computer then pulled up a chart that stated Nicholas is in the 85% tile and weights about 1 lb 14 oz. I am glad to hear that he is health but in the back if my mind he still has more to grow and I have to birth him!!!!

Level Two and the Sex

We have made it to this point. The date is June 25 at 10:44 am. I am having a level 2 ultra sound because Steve and I have decided to not have any testing done. Dr. Gillean stated that was fine. Going to this appointment was very scary for me. I had so many emotions going on in my head. Is the baby okay? Does he have any problems? Is he healthy? I was very glad that Steve and my Mom were there.
I walked into the room, laid down and Dr. Albert wasted no time. There was a flat screen T.V. on the wall so I could see what Steve and Mom were getting to see as well. It was the most amazing thing ever. He (yes he) was very health. He had all 10 fingers and all 10 toes. His organs were working well. All was well with my baby boy!
With me, that was another story. Dr. Albert noticed that my placenta was a little low and still covering my cervix. A little nerves I went to see Dr. Gillean a week later and found out that I have what is call placenta preva. (over 90% of woman have it and over 89% of the time the placenta moves up) I was one of the happiest 89% of the woman that do not have it. A little scary at first but no problems.
The best part about this whole Dr. visit is that my baby boy is wonderful healthy.
It only took Steve and I two weeks to come up with his name. It is Nicholas Wade Chalambaga.

The First Step

Sorry about the picture being small but it has a huge impact on our lives. The date was April 21 at 10:42 am. This is a picture of my baby. The baby is 1.20 cm and all was looking great. Steve and I went home that night and were so confused and very excited to say the least. You see 10 days before that on my birthday April 11 we were told that I was pregnant but the baby was small and did not look good. (not a good birthday present)Dr. Putman sent me home and said take it easy and I will see you in 10 days. I went home that day very upset. My Mom, Dad, Brenna and Griffin were at my home to celebrate my birthday, so I sucked up my sadness and tried to make it a good day.
That was Friday night. Sunday night came and I started spotting. Called the Dr. on Monday and they said that as long as there was no cramping just keep your feet up and we will see you on April 21.
April 21 is here and Dr. Putman checked me. The baby has grown and a confusing story made short, I was pregnant with twins and lost one. That has not stopped Nicholas from growing and growing.

I am being forced to blog...

So my bff is insisting that I start a blog. I will comply with her wishes and post my latest happenings with baby Nicholas and the fam. Thank you Becky.
